About the Provider

Today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders. Getting our children off to a good start is important for preserving the future of our people. The Kenaitze Indian Tribe’s Kuya Qyut`anen Early Childhood Center offers a Head Start Program, which uses our locally developed curriculum to integrate the Dena’ina language into our classrooms.

The Center emphasizes family support and involvement and offers regular family events and activities. The Center also works closely with its community partners to provide dental and health screenings, nutrition services, daily physical activity and a variety of programs for children with special needs.

This year, the Center saw one of its first-year Head Start students graduate high school! We are proud of this milestone and look forward to seeing many more Head Start alumni through their student careers.

The Kenaitze Indian Tribe Early Childhood Center is a proud participant in the USDA-Child and Adult Care Food Program. This program enables us to serve nutritious snacks and meals to our children during the school year.
