Terrible experience! My daughter told me that her teacher hit and scratched her hand and she couldn’t sleep with her stuffed animal. This happened on Monday and only on Wednesday we could talk to the assistant director that said the director watched the footage and saw the teacher taking the stuffed animal away, but nothing besides that happened. We asked to watch the footage and she promised to check it and call my husband back, but no response. On Thursday (08/20) afternoon, I tried to call, nobody answered and then I sent an email. Barbara replied to the email saying that administrator (German) would contact us. German told my husband that it is against the law to show us the footage and that the teacher WAS WRONG to take my daughter’s toy away. The teacher claimed that the stuffed animal was dangerous. We tried to understand why the stuffed animal was taken away and why we did not get any communication from the daycare about her the incident. We have no answers for that. The refusal to show us the footage and no explanation left us very concerned. Showing us the footage is not against the law, but they have the right to deny it. I hope this review changes the way that they handle these incidents.
We just moved here from Chicago and I was very concerned about finding a good pre-k school for my son. We toured several schools in the area, but my gut told me that Intracoastal Kids Academy would be the right choice for us. The staff is loving and kind and I know my son is safe while he's under their care. The school provides a good core curriculum and communicates with the parents what they are learning so that we can continue reinforcing their studies at home. I like that they teach the students in a playful way, which keeps my kid interested. He is so proud to show me the work he's done at school that day. Its never a struggle to get him ready for another day at school--he's happy to go there! Intracoastal Kid's Academy is doing a great thing by giving my son a great start with his education, they are giving him a love of learning. This will benefit him forever.
