Findings: The provider has an above ground pool. The pool is an oval shape, and the short sides are only 3 feet 10 inches. This was discussed. The provider will dig out two more inches around the pool to ensure that it is 4 feet all around from the ground to the top of the pool. The provider is advised that if she builds steps up to the deck, she must have a gate that is 4 feet tall and is self closing self latching. Provider indicates that they plan to use removable steps that she will keep inaccessible during day care hours. The pool will be added to the registration certificate as off limits to the day care children. The provider has installed a wooden fence to separate the play area from the back yard, which is off limits. The space between the slats is 6.5 inches, which creates a foothold. The provider has purchased chicken wire to put on the fence. The provider is advised that the chicken wire should be placed on the side where the day care children play, from the ground up, and should be tight. The provider can also reposition the slats so they are no more than 3.5 inches between each slat. | |||
