Hive Therapeutic Childcare, part of the BEE KIDS Mental Health and Wellness Center in Tooele, Utah, is a specialized program designed for children who require additional developmental support but are not diagnosed with autism. This unique setting combines the structure of a childcare facility with therapeutic interventions, focusing on enhancing developmental skills and promoting preferred behaviors across various environments such as school, home, and traditional childcare settings. The program employs behavioral specialists who develop individualized developmental plans to foster growth and positive behavior change. Enrollments are structured in three-month segments, with options for extended participation to ensure skill mastery and continued progress. The program utilizes evidence-based strategies from developmental science and behavior analysis, particularly Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Interventions (NDBI), to address behaviors in young children. Techniques such as face-to-face social interactions, imitation, and joint attention are employed to teach developmentally appropriate skills in a supportive environment that encourages independent growth. The multidisciplinary team includes a Preschool/Child Care Teacher, Registered Behavioral Technician, and an onsite certified education instructor, all overseen by a Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst. Together with the child's family, Hive Therapeutic Childcare collaborates to set individualized, achievable goals such as improving social skills, enhancing communication abilities, and reducing problematic behaviors.
