About the Provider

At Welby Montessori, students are offered a challenging learning environment where they are held to high expectations and become accountable for their academic excellence. This environment includes specialized educational materials to foster independence and ownership of learning. In addition to a focus on Colorado State and School District standards, Welby follows the components of the Montessori method that create a well-rounded educational experience for each student.

Students work in a carefully prepared environment that invites curiosity and promotes investigation and exploration. Students are encouraged to collaborate in their learning during work cycles. Lessons are presented to individual students or in small groups. Welby supports the Primary Program, which provides a fourth year of school for children in kindergarten through second grade who need more time to develop essential reading skills, such as early reading and vocabulary development.

Welby recognizes the elements of the Montessori philosophy which emphasize the importance of showing respect, adopting peaceful practices, and developing an awareness of personal responsibility for contributing in a positive way to the world.
