Description: The philosophy of The Heritage School is to emphasize the teaching and learning of basic skills and information. It is characterized by self-contained K-5 classrooms and departmentalized 6-8 classes, teacher-centered, textbookbased instruction, high academic standards, strict discipline and dress code, a phonics based method to reading, closely monitored student progress, and parental involvement in the educational decision-making process.
