<h3 style="text-align: justify;">If the program you choose for your child is <strong><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">not</span> inspected</em></strong> here are some questions to ask yourself when you visit the program:</h3>

<li style="text-align: justify;">Has all staff had criminal background checks?</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Are there enough staff members to look after the number of children they are caring for?</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Do the children seem happy? Are they playing and smiling?</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Are the children being watched closely?</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Are the staff welcoming and willing to take time to talk with you?</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Does the space appear to be comfortable, clean, and safe inside and out?</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Do the teachers get down on the level of the children to talk with and listen to them?</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Do the teachers have specialized training in Early Care &amp; Education, and do they attend child care training?</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Are there plenty of age appropriate toys, books, art supplies, and blocks?</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Most of all: do you feel good about leaving your child there?</li>
