About the Provider

Greenhouse Preschool is a small, private preschool located in the Flour Bluff area of Corpus Christi, Texas.  The preschool has one teacher and enrolls only ten children each year.  The school is run out of the teacher's home.

At the Greenhouse Preschool we are less structured and less formal than some other preschools.  That means that, while we still have routines, we allow children more time for developmentally appropriate tasks such as developmental play.  Much of our time together is spent singing, playing, dancing, and painting both indoors and outdoors.   The children are encouraged to experience, explore, and play. It is through these activities that they are taught letter names and sounds, numbers, colors, shapes, vocabulary, early writing skills, and early reading skills.  The children are also taught using mini-lessons during circle time each day. We believe that by doing this, we build a stronger social and academic foundation to help children be more successful in a formal, more structured classroom.
