Mission
Granby Play Days Preschool uses play and creative interaction as a way for children to discover and learn. Our ultimate goal is to prepare our students to be kindergartners who enjoy learning and who are ready to learn. To reach that goal we have three objectives:
• To provide an environment which enhances social competency, language skills, emotional and physical growth and well-being, dramatic play and creative self expression.
• To provide a nurturing environment which models positive interaction with the world and others.
• To provide an enjoyable group experience that respects individual learning styles and facilitates lifelong learners.

Granby Play Days Preschool was formed in May of 2009 when it was learned that two preschools in central Grand County were closing (the C Lazy U Preschool and the Mountain Family Center Preschool in Grand Lake). Some staff and parents of C Lazy U Preschool were urged to begin efforts to offer a new preschool in the Granby area that would fill the void left by the closure of the two schools.

Granby Play Days offers a Kindergarten-prep program that is geared toward preparing young children (ages 2.5 to 5) for elementary school. We believe this can best be done by “discovering and learning through play.”

We believe that a solid preschool education prepares children so they can arrive at Kindergarten ready and prepared to learn, both intellectually and socially. Our curriculum also teaches a range of social and development skills that nurture that best practices for preparing children to learn in a group/community setting. These skills are lifetime skills that translate into long term social gains.
