We selected the Go Child Development Center (P&G day care) after visiting almost all of the day care options in Northern KY and the downtown Cincinnati areas. We were impressed with the presentation and the ratio, 4 infants to 1 teacher which is better than the 5-1 ratio at the majority of other day care centers in the area. Due to the presentation of the downtown (New St.) location, ratio, and convenience of location to work we decided this facility was worth the extra costs.

Our child started at the center at 4 and 1/2 months of age in May of 2014. Obviously any day care would have been difficult to start at, but our experience has not been pleasant with this center since day 1.

The center is supposed to have a ration of 4-1 but there have been many occasions at drop off, random visits during the day, or at pick up where there have been 6 plus infants spread across two rooms being observed by one teacher!!

We have brought up these incidents to the director; however the only actions taken are conversations with one teacher who they believe to be at fault rather than fixing glaring staffing issues.

The center has a high rate of turnover with their staff, which we were aware of going in, but we did not understand that if your teacher leaves it will take extended periods of time for a replacement teacher to be found and during that time multiple different float staff(who are not at all aware of the your infants feeding, napping, or any other requirements) cover for the absent teacher. There have been many times at drop off or pick up where there is unknown staff watching the children who have no knowledge of your child’s needs (which all parents fill out extensive paperwork for).

Some of our issues could be more directed at our specific teachers; however after talking to many of the other parents who used the center for their infants, similar issues were experienced by their teachers as well. One major issue is the lack of interaction the infants receive from their teachers. There were many times when we would walk into the room at the end of the day 4/4:30 and our son would be sitting by himself with no toys, which we also saw occurring with the other children as well, while the teachers and support staff where in a circle talking. This occurs approximately 3-4 out of 5 days a week. My partner overheard one of the teachers report that they wash the toys as early as possible so they can leave after the last child leaves the room.

Whenever there is an issue with a room it appears one particular infant room, of the 8, is selected as the model room where that family is sent. Our experience has been that the administration is aware that many of the staff and teachers are not very competent.

Overall we have not been impressed, even after switching infant rooms once. There are many internal complaints submitted regarding at least the infant program. We are looking for a nanny or in home provider as the lack of attention our child is receiving is concerning. We are not concerned with safety at this facility, but simply warehousing children is about as far as the infant program is able to go. We have
