I used this daycare and I can confirm what that review from Kate below has said. I actually know who Beth is and is the neighbor she has over for cocktails while she is watching the kids! DO NOT send your kids here. Melissa is absolutely trash and I don’t trust her with kids at all!
Melissa is an absolutely wonderful daycare provider. She watched both of my girls from 3 months to 3 years and we NEVER had any issues. She provided a safe and loving home for our girls while we had to work. She offers breakfast and snacks. They always came home happy. It's a home daycare not a commercial one, so what do you expect? Frigid environment, multiple people caring for your kids, and a whole center full of germs? We loved her home based care, she treated my kids like her own. Melissa always followed through with reports on your childs day in writing and was professional if there were any injury reports needed (only once which was minor with 1 of the 2) If you think you'll not have something like biting going on in a daycare you haven't been around toddlers and all it takes is a second. Sounds like the previous parent is using someone else's supposed biting injury, which to me would indicate a disgruntled parent. Melissa is often so liked she doesn't have fulltime spots open. I'll be the third party to tell you this previous parent was upset she couldn't add more days to her child's schedule. If you thought Melissa was rude, fake, and in violation why in God's name would you send your child there for a whole year???Ridiculous accusations! And as for the toothbrushing, it is disgusting. I'm a dental hygienist and I signed off no at our preschool! Looking for a breeding ground of viruses and germs? Put toothbrushes from various children close together and share a tube of toothpaste...
We love Melissa. She still sees my kids at school activities and hugs them like her own. I would trust her 100 percent to watch your kids!
DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE: My daughter was recently at MELISSA'S FAMILY DAYCARE in Tyngsboro on SEQUOIA Rd. I've taken her out because Melissa has left the children unattended (or with her daughter who is under 10 years old) while she went outside to do some things (I've seen her sprinting to the house when she saw me pull up), she has given my daughter food which I've specifically asked her not to (she could've had a severe allergic reaction), frequently goes over her limit as she allows her children to have friends over, has had her OWN friends over while watching the children during her regularly scheduled daycare hours, among others. My friend had sent her son there briefly and saw her outside moving her vehicle for construction workers while leaving all the babies and kids inside unattended, and immediately removed her son from the daycare after he was bit (which left serious marks and almost punctured his skin) and she was not even notified of it until her uncle called her (he was picking her son up that day and Melissa allowed him to sign the injury report form without even so much as a phone call to her mother (my friend). I find her very rude, fake, and frequently in violation of the Department of Early Childcare's rules/laws. In addition, when my daughter first started, she gave me her "schedule" of the "activities" of the day. Not once have I witnessed or heard of them actually doing any group enrichment activities or arts and crafts besides the Mother's Day card my daughter was sent home with (she has gone there a year). She also guilted me into signing a release so she wouldn't have to brush my daughters teeth (which is now required by law)... Saying having to brush their teeth was "disgusting" and I quote her exactly. Many days I've picked up my daughter and the children are playing in the living room and Melissa is cooking her family dinner in the kitchen! She is definitely NOT a childcare provider, at most she's a babysitter and a poor one at that too. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!!! PLEASE SHARE!!
