Description: In the spring of 1965, a few parents felt that the education of their children should be of a higher quality. After much dedication and sacrifice, Fayette Academy opened in the fall of 1965 with one hundred students in grades 1-8. The present site was purchased in 1966 and on January 1, 1967, academic students in grades 1-12 were moved into their new building. Building additions since that time have included a gymnasium, additional classroom buildings, a kindergarten building, band hall, a library, an administration building, a cafeteria and a high school building. The new high school building contains state of the art science labs. Fayette Academy is dedicated to a complete physical plant and curriculum. As our society changes, Fayette Academy makes adjustments to meet the demands our graduating students will be required to have to enter college.
Fayette Academy boasts that 99% of our graduates continue their formal education and have gone on to become productive, well-rounded citizens in society. Approximately 55 seniors graduate from Fayette Academy each year, and most continue their formal education after graduation. Fayette Academy has among its graduates students who have achieved outstanding success in numerous colleges and universities and have taken their places in society as productive well-rounded citizens in many areas.
