Description: Our church has had a preschool for over 50 years - Fairlawn West Preschool. A year ago we intentionally took steps to improve and upgrade our program and our staffing. It is amazing how much diffence a year can make! In some respects we went back and started over because we realized the preschool we had did not represent the core values and the attributes of faith that were important to us as a church. You will find now a diverse and inclusive community of children, families and staff. You will find creativity, caring and compassion shared and taught in a variety of ways. You will find forgiveness and acceptance at the heart of our life. You will find stimulating experiences that develop the capabilities of the children educationally. You will find adults who can be trusted and with whom parents can find nurture and support for themselves. You will find faith expressed, but not in a narrow, judging way. Children will be introduced to spirituality, but not have doctrinaire "religion" laid upon them. It was risky to start over, but now a year later we know it was worth it!
