El Grito Inc.- Cooper (EMERG OPEN)

A preschool that was created mostly to serve children from low-income families and special needs children however, all families are encouraged to apply. The program site offers education services through Head Start and NM Early PreK. The center is open from 8:00am - 4:00pm, Monday through Friday. (Pandemic change: No school for children on Wednesday's which are used for cleaning/sanitation). Children's Program Hours are from 8:45am - 2:30pm. (Dropoff time-8:15am-8:45am - Pickup time-2:30pm-3:00pm) Breakfast, lunch and a snack provided for Head Start classes. Provides social, health, mental health and educational services. Educational programs include CPR, safety classes, child development training, Father/Mother Power (parent involvement training), parental rights and responsibilities. Head Start prepares children for kindergarten and helps children transition into the school system. There are 5 Head Start classrooms at this site for children/families located in the Silver City district. Admin offices are also located at this site.
