The teachers are not engaged with the children: lesson plans are not current or followed; teachers have been seen sleeping during naptimes;field trip suggestions are ignored; there are many times during the day when children are unsupervised so teachers can go to the kitchen for food or out a backdoor to the playground to smoke a cigarette; parent/teacher communication is minimal, if at all; the tv is constantly on so staff may socialize or group the children together for no real purpose other than allowing teachers more time to pursue personal interest, i.e., phone conversations.
