The Jean Benson Child Development Center is a part of the Family YMCA of the Desert's Early Childhood Education Program. Located in the Desert Rose housing complex, in Palm Desert, Ca we offer free or low cost child care to children ages 2-5 years.
YMCA Jean Benson Child Development Center offers TWO programs for children between 3 to 5 years of age to meet the needs of families.
Early childhood education preschool program – 2 to 5 years of age

Drop in Rates $37 Full Day $27 Half Day
State preschool program – 3 to 5 years of age – Low Cost/No Cost - The State Preschool (SPS) consists of one full-day session from 7:30am-5:30pm. This session is funded through the State of California based on family size and income.

This is a great school my son has been going there since February March he loves all the teachers they love him he's made so many friends here MS Monique MS Brandi are just awesome everybody there from the teachers to the cooks to the bus driver Are very caring and capable. I have told several friends about Jean Benson YMCA and they enrolled their children there as well and they absolutely love it. I'm in HR and can weed out the BS and honesty and this definitely is a great school. We have been treated with respect and dignity but we also treat people that way. great school.
This is the worst school of the desert. Too much turnover. Director we had sround Feb just vanished. Nobody told us anything. I heard some staff talking about the Y violating privacy rights.. My children and I are tired of the bull$#@& going on there. Does the CEO ignore all this or not give a crap???? I know several parents had issues with bull and crazy charges when C. was director. The Y isn't the Y anymore... sounds like a cult. You become "one of them,".. .or you're out. That's just my opinion, but I'm pretty good at reading between the lines,!!! Find another school. Hibe your child a chance to grow up normal.
