Description: Crystal Evans is a Listed Family Home in LEANDER TX, with a maximum capacity of 3 children. The provider does not participate in a subsidized child care program.
We chose to trust the care of our child to Mrs. Crystal after being failed by an "academy daycare/preschool"; since then we could not be happier with our decision to do so. Our child has learned so much in the time she has been in Crystal's care; she is ahead of others in her age group; she has consistency, she is happy, and most importantly she is well taken care of -quite honestly she is treated like family when in Crystal's care. As a parent, this is what we'd expect to see with any establishment that cares for children; however that's rarely the case. I am happy to report that we have no regrets with our decision to take her here. We hope to be able to continue to have her here through her start of kindergarten, and continue to use her for our child's summer care as well. Because this is an in-home daycare there are a few "restrictions" in regards to the schedule as opposed to a box daycare...for instance there is an early drop off/late pick up fee outside of her regular hours, and there are vacation/closed days that follow LISD that box daycares don't typically participate in. However, all of this is something that is included in the contract and gone over with you prior to agreeing to her care. With all in-home daycares there are going to be some moments of give and take, however, when the quality of care outweighs those give and take moments, it becomes imperative as to which decision is the best decision for your child. And that is exactly why we chose Crystal for our child's care.
She is clearly about money. She gives you a weekly fee but then adds on fees for lunch and then an extra $5 a day if you want your child dropped off at 7:30am. Make sure you pay her by 5:45pm for the next week or she will text multiple times to remind you. Also the kids are outside for about 4 hours a day, then between lunch and nap, maybe inside and for about 2. It appears she she does her best to to not have to deal w them too much. Then she tried to offer me health insurance which I found completely unprofessional. Use your money wisely and place your child in a preschool. It will cost the same and they will be learning and not just stuck outside, probably while she working on selling insurance.
