Cottage State Preschool

Cottage School is nestled next to a tree-shaded park with a creek running through it. Cottage School's growing Montessori classrooms are providing exciting opportunities to families in the community who are interested in child focused, developmental instruction which promotes independence in children. This method is both effective and engaging for the children who are enrolled in it.

Montessori, by nature, offers a comprehensive education for every student. Children are challenged along their academic path by their teacher who serves as a guide. Each child follows their own individual learning path through the Montessori curriculum, which leads to a higher level of learning in each child.

Currently Cottage School offers Montessori Transitional Kindergarten, Kindergarten, First Grade, anmd Second Grade. Each year we are adding another grade level of Montessori education until this method of instruction is available to Transitional Kindergarteners through Fifth Graders.

Cottage is currently providing a more traditional path of education to Third through Fifth Graders. Students are provided with differentiated instruction that meets students at their instructional levels and carries them forwards. We have a heavy focus on balanced literacy and are working hard in the areas of readers and writers workshop.

Our staff is community of learners. We are life long learners and wish our students to find the same joy in learning.
