About the Provider

A child's first school experience is an important one. Each child is different and deserves individual attention. The Cooperative Nursery School of Lombard has been meeting the needs of children for more than 50 years. Our staff believes that children come first! Our program is a play based curriculum, creating an environment in which all children develop the academic, social, and emotional skills they need to be successful in school and beyond. Research shows that "young children learn best through manipulation of materials and hands-on experiences, planned by knowledgeable teachers...It is play with purpose" (NAEYC, Early Years are Learning Years).
We realize that all children have different needs and develop at different rates. Some children need a familiar routine , while others are adventurous. To meet these diverse needs, painting, block play, play dough, and familiar books and songs are part of the everyday routine, while a rotating variety of table toys, science activities, art projects, dramatic play areas, and field trips make each day different. Our staff works in partnership with each child to find the right path to success.
