Description: Community Nursery School is a non-denominational, non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality nursery school education for preschool children. Sponsored by the First Presbyterian Church of Metuchen, the school was opened in 1949. We are licensed by the New Jersey Department of Human Services, Department of Children and Families. The program is built on the philosophy that a nursery school should provide a wide variety of opportunities for the social, intellectual, emotional and physical development of the child in a happy and relaxed atmosphere. The curriculum is based on both individual and group needs, interests and abilities. The children are provided with materials and equipment, time and space, and appropriate teacher guidance. The methods, procedures and practices reflect an understanding of child growth and development.
