Upon choosing a school for your child please do your research as all private schools and most importantly all Montessori Schools are not the same. The administration at Columbus Montessori Education Center is extremely biased and unapproachable. The administration is bureaucratic and toxic, which trickles down to the entire operation of the school. In specific the Assistant Director is not interested or tolerant of any opinion other than her own. She is judgmental, uneducated, and unapproachable when any concerns are brought to her attention that differ from her own. This is especially unfortunate considering there are actually some great teachers at CMEC. Be aware that if you are using any type of government scholarship or funding, you will be treated very differently than the other parents/ students. It Is disheartening that a school who preaches individuality and diversity is realistically so close minded and judgmental. Our decision to finally leave CMEC was the best possible choice for our child and please know that there are so many other GREAT Montessori and private schools in Columbus.
