Color My World 2 Child Care Academy was wonderful for my infant son for the first three months he attended. However, after his original teacher left, a replacement was put into the room who was not vetted properly due to being a personal friend of the owner. She left the children unattended multiple times which resulted in my son having three significant injuries. Rather than the worker telling me herself, she allowed the other teacher in the classroom (who did a wonderful job taking care of my son) to inform me of the injuries. The incidents were downplayed and made to seem completely my son's, who is 9 months old, fault. As a result of the negligence and favoritism of the owner of this facility my son had to be seen by his pediatrician to ensure that his injuries would not leave any lasting damage. The worker was never chastised for leaving the infants unattended nor was she let go from the daycare when my husband met with the director. After the incidents we did not receive an incident report until meeting with the director. The only solution we were offered was that the worker would be removed from the infant classroom. It is our belief that this worker does not need to work with children at all and that the owner of the daycare should be required to take full responsibility for the negligence of the worker as well as her inability to chastise properly those she favors. Childcare is not a place for favoritism and children should not be getting significantly injured because of the inability of the owner and the worker to properly do their jobs. It is also important to mention that after our meeting with the director, an individual reached out to the worker and the owner wanting to discuss the contents of our private meeting. It is my understanding that both the worker and the owner directly violated HIPPA by sharing my son's confidential medical information with this third party person who did not have permission to receive any information regarding my son.
