Foothills Elementary has a richly diverse enrollment of approximately 340 students in preschool through 6th grade. We are located in the foothills, just west of Denver. After attending Foothills, our students proceed to Dunstan Middle School and then Green Mountain High School. Our community and staff are sincerely dedicated to the students that attend Foothills Elementary. The school community is supported by parents and by a qualified staff of professionals. In addition, Foothills Elementary has the support of the local Rotary Club, City of Lakewood, GMCA, Spellbinders, and OASIS. Many of these groups volunteer in the school and assist us in sponsoring enrichment programs. Special programs include reading interventions for at-risk students, English as Second Language, OASIS Tutors, Read Naturally, and after school tutoring. Our Special Education programs include the Significantly Limited Intellectual Capabilities (SLIC) Program and the Perceptual/Communicative (PC) program. Our Enrichment Program includes KIDS (news broadcasting), Running Club, Boys/Girls Choir, Art Club, Student Council, Partners in Learning, Recycling Club, Digital Drama Club, Wii Club, Boy/Girl Scouts, Spelling Bee, Young Writers, Writer's Workshop, and Grade Level Buddies. Before and after school care is offered on site by the City of Lakewood.
