Description: This recently renovated center offers free after care, spring, winter and summer camps to those that qualify. These programs are funded by the Children Services Council Maximizing Out-of-school Time grant. Other programs include Wee Wiggle and Sing, Steel Pan Drums/Music and civic meetings. The Community Center now has an additional 1,900 square feet of space that features new restrooms, a fenced play area with new playground equipment and shade structure adjacent to a new classroom. Additionally, the original building was renovated to include a reception and office areas and a new roof. Additional parking was added in the parking lot and the basketball courts now boast new acrylic surfacing. The improvements at Kay Gaither were made possible by the General Obligation bond passed by voters in 2004 to help upgrade the City of Hollywood's Parks and Public Safety Facilities.
