Description: Head Start is a federally-funded comprehensive child development program for 3 and 4 year old children. Besides the learning activities, the program ensures that children receive needed medical services, including age-appropriate screening and immunizations, dental check-ups, and nutrition and social services. A family service plan is developed to help improve the ability of the family to meet their needs. Parent involvement is a key element of Head Start.
