Children’s House Montessori Preschool & Kindergarten was founded in 1974 and is conveniently located the corner of Mountain Avenue and Shields Street. The principles and philosophy of the school are based upon the teachings of Dr. Maria Montessori who believed that children must have the freedom to be themselves and to trust their own intuition in order to develop fully their physical, intellectual, and spiritual powers. The Children’s House Montessori School continues to advance the Montessori tradition and has established itself as a leader in quality alternative education. It is a place where children can fully explore, enjoy, and enrich their developing minds.
