Philosophy of the Center Children live minute by minute; and everything experienced during those busy detailed days reflects what they are, what has been, and what they will become. At Children's Discovery Center, we strive to provide a safe, nurturing environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of the young child. An important component of our program is to provide an enriched environment, which encourages learning through exploration and play. A child's play is a primary indicator of his mental growth. Children need years of play with real objects before they understand the meaning of symbols, such as letters or numbers. Learning takes place as young children touch, manipulate, and experiment with things and as they interact with others. Through planning developmentally-appropriate activities, our staff hopes to give your child opportunities to actively explore, create, and develop at his individual rate.
