About the Provider

Children of the Rainbow, Inc. is a creativity-based, state of the art childcare company founded in 1991 by Ms. Gale Walker. Ms. Walker created Children of the Rainbow to address the chronic need in her community for affordable childcare while providing a safe and enriching environment. Our facility is especially unique because it is located in San Diego's oldest, most culturally diverse and economically disadvantaged areas- Logan Heights, Stockton and Grant Hill neighborhoods. Ms. Walker and Children of the Rainbow have received numerous awards for excellence over the past decade in business and community service in these areas. We are a childcare company that has been established to provide quality childcare for children birth to twelve years of age, while assisting parents/guardians of the children to achieve their goals of training and employment. Our programs are dedicated to enhancing the development of each child's individual gifts and talents, and in the process enable them to develop a healthy respect for their culture and the cultures of others. At Children of the Rainbow we feel everyday is a new opportunity to make this a better world - one child at a time.
