Children of Promise Multipurpose Development Center Incorporated is a non-profit organization. Under the capable leadership of the programs Executive Director, Sharon Lee Myers’ she ventures to address the unique needs of the children that are academically at risk. They are defined as being at-risk students that are in danger of not receiving life skills for today’s world. Evidence of this behavior includes poor school performance, poor attendance, drug or alcohol abuse, criminal activity, gang membership, teenage pregnancy, and low self-esteem. Children of Promise After School Program (COPASP), supplies high quality after school care and promotes a system in which school and community-based after school services are coordinated with school day programs to maximize the benefits of our academically at risk youth. The Children of Promise after school program will employ experienced and well-trained education coordinators, tutors, mentors and college interns. Our program will take place five days per week during the school year. Our after-school services include tutoring, homework assistance, a meal and various enrichment activities.
