She understands she must practice fire drills at least once per month and disaster drills at least twice per year. The provider will document these drills for the licensing specialist and fire marshal to observe.

2018-09-05 Complaint 13A.15.10.04B Corrected
Findings: The complainant provided pictures from the provider's Facebook page showing daycare children playing in an inflatable pool. The provider stated she had permission from the parents and thought a low pool was okay for use. Written permission from the parents does not go above the regulations which do not allow for any fill-and-drain pools. Pool use is only allowed at pools approved by the health department (public pools). There are many regulations that apply to providers when taking children to a public pool (supervision, additional staff, etc.). The pictures are from a May 2018 water play day in the provider's backyard. During the provider's full inspection in July 2018, a child's inflatable pool was observed on the deck gated off. The provider was told the pool must be emptied while child care children are present as she stated the pool was for her son's use only. The provider was reminded of the regulations regarding approved water play activities in child care (water tables, sprinklers). The inflatable pool was not present at the time of the inspection. The pool should be used for private use only when there are no child care children present.
2018-07-19 Full 13A.15.03.02A Corrected
Findings: There is one child missing part I of the health inventory, three children missing part II of the health inventory which includes the lead screening/test. Two children did not have documentation of their immunizations. The remaining 7 children need documentation of updated immunizations. Please have the parents obtain the required documentation from the physicians and add to the children's files.
2018-07-19 Full 13A.15.03.02B Corrected
Findings: Seven of the children need documentation of the lead screen or test. Most of the children need the lead blood test done as they have turned 12 or 24 months while in care. The lead blood test is required for any children who were born after 1/1/2015 and must be done at 12 and 24 months. Please utilize page 4 of the health inventory to obtain the lead blood test documentation from the physician.
2018-07-19 Full 13A.15.03.03E Corrected
Findings: Six children do not have the consumer pamphlet in their file. There were a few with an unsigned pamphlet in the file. Please ensure all families were given or advised how to obtain the consumer pamphlet.
2018-07-19 Full 13A.15.03.04A(3) Corrected
Findings: Two emergency cards are in need of updating. There is missing information on multiple other emergency cards to include physician information and parent signature/date. Please ensure all emergency cards are complete and updated.
2018-07-19 Full 13A.15.03.05A(2)(a) Corrected
Findings: The provider stated one of the child care children was bitten by her cat, Jack. The child received medical treatment for the bite as it became infected. The police did respond to the provider's home to obtain vaccination information on the cat. The provider could not find the documentation so the cat received a rabies vaccination again in June 2018. The provider was supposed to notify the licensing specialist when the bite occurred and tell the licensing specialist when the child received medical treatment for the bite wound. The cat was not observed during the inspection and typically stays in the second floor bedroom area or outside. There have been no previous incidents with the cats and child care children.
2018-07-19 Full 13A.15.06.02B(2) Corrected
Findings: The provider did not complete any continued training during the 2016-2017 training year. She has since completed 15 hours of continued training. She must now complete an additional 9 hours of continued training by 9/30/2018. Please forward copies of the training certificates to the licensing specialist once completed. She can complete the basic health and safety course for free online through the Division of Early Childhood's website which will count towards 3 hours of training.
2018-07-19 Full 13A.15.06.02E(1) Corrected
Findings: The provider's first aid/CPR certification expired in May 2017. Please complete the first aid/CPR training as soon as possible and forward a copy of the certification to the licensing specialist once completed.
2018-07-19 Full 13A.15.08.01B(4) Corrected
Findings: The provider left the residence for a very brief time to given something to a person in the parking lot. She also put an infant to nap upstairs leaving the preschool children and another infant on the main level of the home. The provider needs to stay on the same level of the home whenever there are awake infants or preschool children present in the home. Children under the age of two should be napping on the same level of the home as the provider. The video and sound monitoring system should be used if the infant is in another room on the same level as the provider.
2018-07-19 Full 13A.15.08.01D(1)(b) Corrected
Findings: The provider did not physically check on the napping infant every 15 minutes. She did check on her phone to see the child from the video monitoring system. The provider is reminded she must physically check on the child at least every 15 minutes.
