On a date in the past, claimed to be 11/7/2022. A child had a pacifier in their mouth that was not theirs. Provider showed a pacifier clip system that they now use.
Provider Response: (Contact the State Licensing Office for more information.)
We were able to talk to all the teachers and figure out what had occured. To help prevent any confusion in the future we implemented a pacifier clip system with each child's name. We do not allow the children to share pacifiers. We take steps such as labeling and storing in children's cubbies. This child didn't have another child's pacifier in her mouth. She had a pacifier that was a cleaned/sterileed pacifier from daycare "extra" supply. The child had lost her pacifier in the morning in leaves on the playground. It couldn't be found so a teacher gave her a pacifier from the "extra" supply. The teacher forgot to let the afternoon teacher now about the lost pacifier. When the parent picked up her child, she thorught she had another child's pacifier because it wasnt the one she had sent in with her. Unfortunately, since the afternoon teacher didn't know about her having the daycare extra one, this wasn't able to be explained ot the parent. After parent left daycare she called and messaged back about concern.
