Description: The program is designed to serve children 3-5 years of age from families who qualify for Head Start services in Somerville and Cambridge. CAAS Head Start helps all children succeed by providing comprehensive services to children through activities that help them grow: socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically. These services lay the foundation for life long learning and continued school success. Children transition from our program into elementary schools prepared and ready to continue to learn and grow. Parents are encouraged to become partners with the program since CAAS Head Start recognizes you as your child’s first teacher. Working together will allow us to make your Head Start experience more valuable for both you and your child. We offer opportunities for you to become involved in classroom activities direct involvement in the decision making of program planning and operation. The CAAS Head Start program is operated by the Community Action Agency of Somerville, which also provides additional services in the Somerville community.
