Brown, Meria Sherrice

On February 13, 2018 I entered the child care facility located on 7908 Prospect KCMO 64132. The owner Meria Brown whom I rarely see asked me if my son was staying along with my daughter. I said yes. She seemed to be confused about how many full time days he had. She asked me was I ok. I guess she could tell that I had been crying. I replied no. She went into the office to retrieve the correct information. My 4 year old asked me what room he should go to. I told him I don’t know. I don’t know your classroom and I don’t know who your new teacher is either. I said to my said that I never got a tour of the building. I also told my son that he would not go to daycare next year as he is going to kindergarten. Meria Sherrice Brown stormed out of her office and aggressively asked me if I ever asked for a tour. I inform her no but I was offered and never received one. She reminded me that well I should have asked for one and she began to say that’s chirldren can put their coats on and leave now. The last thing I needed was the insults and the disrespect. I asked Meria why she was putting my children out of daycare. She stated “you were in a bad mood”. I replied “what does that have to do with you?” She replied “ I tried to comfort you. This all transpired within 5 minutes. That’s how quickly Meria went from 0-10. I informed her that she was very unprofessional but she didn’t seem to care. My son was making as face and I told my son not to make that face. She jumped into our conversation again and said to me that “ he get it from his momma.” I do not understand the evil that I experienced yesterday. I have cried all day and all night. Trying to understand what went wrong. I do not recommend this daycare because the teachers have show neglectful habits towards children and I often heard them yell at the children. About 2 months agoOne child was told by Ms. Brenda that she would not get anything to drink for the rest of the day because she spilled water on her shirt. She fussed at the toddler for 3 minutes straight. I had to say something so I asked Mrs. Brenda is that how is that how you talk to the babies. She replied” that ain’t no baby”. I worried about the child so I told Sister Renee the head teacher who is currently out recovering from a stroke. Sister Renee informed me that Mrs Brenda was gone but that was not true she is back. When I picked up
My kids Meria followed outside and continued to verbally attack me stating that I need state care and my business will not prosper. I climbed in my car and closed the back door as I buckled my kids in I could still see her standing on the porch and I could still hear her. Her anger is unwarranted, unexpected and unprovoked. It’s silly to get angry and throw my kids out of daycare because my son wants to go to real school. He loves his real school. For some reason Meria Brown snapped. I believe her license should be taken away. Just because a person owns a company does not give them a right to hurt people and hurt children with their words.
