I have used this provider for more than 6 months
If I could give this place a zero I would. I live fairly close to the school so it was an easy option to put my first daughter here however, I will present a series of red flags about this place. #1. The teachers do not watch the kids thoroughly. My daughter reported multiple students(4 year olds) kissing and there was no teacher present. #2. There was an online school day and the kindergarten teacher had a man walking in the background on video.. she dismissed them after 2 songs at 10:30.. I literally could have left my daughter sleeping #3. Discrepancies in information. I was told there was no summer school for 5 year old's when I inquired, but another white parent was told me there was space, and her daughter was attending. To make up for this, the director allowed my 5 year old to attend summer for free. Despite the above, my daughter graduated out of the school and moved on to Kindergarten, I settled on placing my two year old here. Issues with my 2 year old #1. I was given the wrong payment information, which caused me to be backed up for 3 or 4 weeks. When my daughter's father dropped her on Monday, a teacher rudely called and said she was not supposed to accept her. I replied I was waiting on the correct payment information and I was speaking to Mr. Roberts. #2. During a Halloween parade, the teacher bought my 2 year old outside without a coat. I had to ask the teacher to go back and get her coat. If I was not at the Halloween parade, my daughter would have walked outside with no jacket. During this same march, there were two little boys who had veered off almost into the street I had to guide them back towards the line, again lack of teachers, as they were to busy carrying their favorite toddlers or laughing amongst themselves. #3. Last straw, Mr. Roberts had spoke to me about late payment and approached very passive aggressive and condescending. He asked where do I work, and he understands as a single mother, and then went into a spill about how his mother was a single mother and his father didn't pay for anything which is NOT my case. At this point I was dissatisfied with the overall school and this was the last straw. I had spoke to another mom in my building, who had her son there and she withdrew him almost immediately because the school was doing the bare minimum in taking care of her son and the staff is very nonchalant. I find I am an understanding individual but the above instances are completely unacceptable. Blue Star Academy is not the only day care in the neighborhood. I was able to enroll my daughter the same day in another one within walking distance. They were 100% more welcoming, forthcoming and not money hungry. I would advise to stay away from this school. FYI, the director/owner is on here and gave the facility 5 stars.... let your establishment speak for itself.
