Bellevue Educare Child Care Center (i/t Program)

Bellevue Day Care Center Inc., the sponsor of Bellevue-Educare Childcare Center, was founded in 1971 by the members of the Bellevue Hospital Auxiliaries to serve the child care needs at the hospital and in the surrounding community. The Board of Directors is a unique non-profit organization. A majority of its members are parents of children enrolled in the center. Others members of the board include representatives from Bellevue Hospital.

Auxiliaries and the community at large. The Board maintains an effective liaison with the Executive Director of the Centers and has active involvement in ongoing operations. Strong parental involement on the Board has led Bellevue-Educare Childcare Center to be recognized as one of the best programs in New York City. The programs sponsored by the Board are well known and often utilized by public services and educational media groups as an institution which represents optimal early childhood education. The growth of the organization has marked Bellevue Day Care Center, Inc. as a leader in the New York City community. The Vision of the Board extends into the future, including the possibility of expanding the programs to elder care.
