The mission of Desert Knolls Elementary School is to create a caring educational environment where students will achieve excellence by developing academically, socially, and emotionally to their fullest potential. Parents and staff work together to emphasize the value of education and to monitor the academic performance of students. Desert Knolls strives to work with the local community and be a central point in meeting the diverse needs of the community. Provisions are made to give staff members the opportunity to stay current in their field through participation in research based professional development. To provide the best education for all students, time is allotted for staff to collaborate and articulate with their colleagues on research based practices and instructional strategies. We believe in a student centered approach, which provides an atmosphere in which a child’s social, emotional and intellectual needs are equally important.
