During this time period, the center did not ensure the safety and security of this child. Center has made modifications to the door so that a bell rings if a child exists the door and it was stated that teacher was counseled and all staff were reminded of supervision and security procedures for each child at all times.

2019-04-10 Complaint 13A.16.08.01A(2)(a) Corrected
Findings: Anonymous complainant stated that owner's brother, who is listed as a volunteer, was left alone with a group of children by himself in the afternoon. It was stated by center that in the past, he stood at the door of a classroom while the children were napping so the teacher could go down the hall to the bathroom. A volunteer may not be left alone with the children or count towards staff child ratios. Center will ensure that this never happens again and will submit a statement of policies and procedures for staff who need to leave the classroom, for whatever reason, to ensure that supervision and staff child ratios are in place at all times as per regulations.
