This Center Is The Best Apr 27, 2016
I have used this provider for more than 6 months

I have two children that are currently attending this center and I can't say enough positive things about this place!! The teachers are very informative and caring to my children. Their room's are always very clean when I drop them off in the morning. My children just love going here and always want to stay when I pick them up! My oldest one is going off to Kindergarten and she has had the best education here and is 110% ready for school. Thank you so much Academy for giving my children the best care possible! I will refer anyone to this facility!

I am the owner

In response to the review about "piling kids in rooms for the money"... We have reason to suspect that this review was fabricated by a disgruntled employee, and welcome anybody with such concerns to review our licensing inspection reports. We operate under state-mandated ratios at all times. Between our two Wadsworth locations, we have served countless families in the Wadsworth area over our 12+ years of business. We encourage anyone who would give a second thought to that review to stop in for a tour, unannounced, and see how we care for children. I promise that you will be excited and confident with what you see. We love serving families, and the fact that our rates are substantially less than our competitors proves that we value children and parents over a profit margin.

Dont go to this daycare. The teachers are nice yes but the director debbie and the owner david are money hungry. They will suck the money out of you and leave you with nothing. The toddler room where my son goes has really good teachers. But the daycare doesnt do anything They will pile kids into the rooms and not care about ratios. I was talking to my sons teacher and she said she had 20 kids on day. How can my child get the education they need with so many kids in one classroom. The they have a huge turn over rate for employement. That is bad. I do not recommend this place. I will probably end up going to kids country. the max size is 14. But they dont care. Its all about the money to they.

This day care would be great if I hadn't been told about this http://thedirty.com/2014/10/the-olive-garden-girl-2/
She's one of the teachers that works there, and I think it's an absolute disgrace. She should not be around children! I'm never letting my son go there again and I'm telling everyone the same.

I have nothing to say but amazing things about this center, and their staff. My daughter and two other children have attended since my eldest was six weeks old. I unfortunately had to take my children out of this center about a year ago due to my work and school hours, but I regret this decision to this day! The other daycare my children attend is one in akron, and I have to say this daycare I am not pleased with at all! My children scream and cry even to this day about going to this center. I never get noticed when my children and I walk into the center, nobody ever says anything but I consistently get an attitude, or maybe it is just them not liking their job. Who knows. But with Debbie, Dave, and all the other staff I am sincerely grateful for. I am still trying to get my children back in this center, and will continue to try until there is an opening. Thanks to their staff, my daughter was ready for kindergarten last year, and she excelled and was a top student due to the staff and their dedication! We love you Academy and appreciate all that you have done!

Nightmare Feb 25, 2013

Where do I start? first piece of advice is to RUN not walk from this daycare. My son started attending this daycare in November of 2012. From the begininng the daycare set my son up with a bus buddy ( A third grader) At first my son complained about the kids being rude and yelling at him. He named two in particular and I brought this up to Debbie who is the assistant director? First she claimed she was never in the room, then she claimed she never saw anything. I asked that my son and this other child be separated. My request was not honored and I routinely saw them together when I picked up my son. I myself, witnessed her yelling at him while Debbie claimed to see nothing. Then my son started complaining about his bus buddy being very bossy with him. I chalked it up to kids being kids and told him to listen to him as he was trying to help him. In the meantime my son's ear was pinched by another child in the school age room. A few weeks ago my son informed me that this bus "buddy" had hit him in the stomach on the bus. I informed Debbie and she said that it was an issue on the bus and that I would have to deal with the school system, which I did. I was able to get this student removed from sitting next to him on the bus. THEN my son tells me a week later that this same kid had been PUSHING him up against the seat of the bus and threatened him, making a fist and putting it up against my son's head if he didn't listen to him. I once again brought this to Debbie's attention, and her response, and I quote "Well I think he's really helpful.". I then spoke to David the Director, owner not sure exactly what his role is. I explained to him how argumentative Debbie was and how she did not seem concerned about coming up with a solution to separate these two boys. He questioned my perception of the problem of all things but promised that he would speak to both Debbie and to the bully. I felt that even though they still weren't taking it seriously enough, that the matter would've been dealt with and the kids separated. Well, on Wedneday, February 20th, literally DAYS later, I witnessed the bully with BOTH his hands around my son's head, shaking his head back and forth. I asked Debbie if she saw it and of course she saw nothing, denied everything. I asked my son to go put his coat on, and since the daycare failed to comply with a fairly simple, and safety minded issue, told the child that he was never to put a hand on my child again. Then Debbie got in my face and told me I couldn't talk to her children like that. I told her she failed to separate the boys, and that this child was STILL physically bullying my son. I wrote a letter to the director and found another daycare where my son would be safe. I have NEVER EVER had any other problems with any other daycare centers. This daycare center does not really care what the kids do to each other, how the they treat each other and how they talk to each other. They obviously did not care of my son's safety. I will be filing a formal complaint with the state. On top of that their "nutritional" snacks were coffee cake, cupcakes, and cookies as reported by my son. My son has adhd and is sensitive to certain dyes and I had brought up this issue to Debbie and she said that I had to have a doctor's note??? so he wouldn't be eating fruit loops and other dyed sugary foods. Sorry to go into such detail but I will be sure to warn EVERY single parent I know against this daycare. Oh and also... My nurse at my doctor's office, after telling her about my son's ordeal told me that she had to pull her child out of the other Academy of Young Minds because there was apparently a hostage situation years before the new center on Briarwood was built. Some woman got locked in a closet or a bathroom she had said that a man (the owner at the time? Not sure really sure)wouldn't let her out and that the police had to notify the parents. BEWARE! And do your research.
