Well, I waited quite a while to post this so I could take the emotion out of my facts. Most of the staff here are amazing and would love to individually rate them a 5. The owner is awful and would give her negative stars if I could. I have 3 kids, and all three kids have attended here. We were there for over 4 years. This place is fine as long as you have no disabilities or extra needs. After over 4 years of my son attending, he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. After a few days in the hospital we were released and he was doing great! I had contacted the owner to set up a training with my sons care team and the staff of APFK at the center with my own equipment. The owner balked and gave me a hard time but did the training. Only one of her employees was invited to be included, even though there were numerous others who were willing to learn. She told me that only that one employee was willing to learn, which was untrue. I verified this with several employees. One of the staff, specifically my son’s teacher, who also is one of the owners children, looked me dead in the eye and said “I’m not doing any of this so I don’t need to know it”. During a heated conversation with the owner regarding my sons care and getting him back into the daycare she flat told me to my face that “she feels like she wasn’t given a choice” as if we went to the store to pick T1D off a shelf and give it to my kid. She made the whole thing about her. She also shared with me that when a child applies and has a disability that she sits down with her staff to see if “they can handle it”. After that, I realized that in my 4 years there, not one child that has a disability attended, just further proving she discriminates against anyone that may cause her extra work. She has lied to my face about receiving government funding. She also lied to me about her staff and their willingness to help with my sons care. I’m sad that the lack of child care in the area leaves this woman to make up the rules as she goes, even if it is illegal.
