I will like to thank Ms. Thelma for all she did for my children. My child has master kindergarten with all E's. She has supported him throughout his school year. She is a very positive role model. She calls to check up on him. My son left her center learning how to write, you know to spell his name, Alphabet, numbers and many more. I don't see how people can talk bad about a wonderful lady. Continue to do what you are doing for children.
I believe 18 yrs in operation speaks for itself. There's an open door policy where parents and providers are encouraged to drop in.... without notice. Yes at 70yrs old she stil has the heart for kids and education. This is the reason why 4 past students of Thelma Cares are now reciepients of $4000 scholarships in memory of Ms. Thelma's mother who passed in 2010 of Alzheimer. Schools that the students attend are.. Hampton University(senior)..Clark Atlanta( junior) Texas Southern University(sophmore).. and Houston Tilliston(freshman).. Some past students even work in the summer when they are home. Faith ,Perserverance and Love exudes within the halls of Thelma Cares Academy.. Highly Recommended.
Extremely unprofessional after your money is accepted! This school prides itself on being academic. Truthfully, my child (age 4) has never come home with any type of work. Moreover, Thelma is extremely rude, which is expected when the childcare facility is ran by a 70 year old woman. There have been many occasions when Thelma has greeted me at the door with conversation that should have been private. Furthermore, she told me, as well as everyone else who happened to be in the vicinity, that my child was "unteachable." It amazes me that an organization that claims it stands for "education and learning" has this type of thought process. As an educator myself, I was extremely flabbergasted and annoyed! I withdrew my child that same day. Finally, I'm not sure if this is a coincidence or not, but every time I dropped my child off to school or picked him up, the kids (quantity 15-20) were always packed in a small space watching television or playing with 1 or 2 sets of blocks split between them.
Run FAR, FAR, FAR away from this degradation they call a school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
