Description: Founded in 1974, the Yellow School is part of MDPC Children’s Ministries. Recognizing that the early years of a child’s life are the most important for laying foundations of faith and for social, emotional and cognitive development, the school provides each child with acceptance, respect and love in a Christian environment. It is a place in which children learn about their uniqueness as children of God and develop new relationships. The school provides an environment in which each child is free to explore, experiment, discover, make decisions and problem solve. We encourage curiosity and independence.
We believe the love of God binds us together. In that love we welcome and respect children of all faiths and we provide a welcoming and loving community in which the children work and play together and learn of God’s love for us all.
The Yellow School curricula are developed using guidelines set forth by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and the findings of the latest brain research. Curricula is written to address the needs of each individual and the class as a whole. Learning activities appropriate to the developmental levels of the children are designed to teach reading and language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, art, music, Spanish, and the development of fine and gross motor skills, as well as faith development. Kindergarten children attend a computer class weekly.
