Description: Summit Private School has been owned and operated by Robyn Johnson & Shannon Kovitch since 1997. Both are former public school teachers. Robyn has a degree in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood Specialization. She also earned her Masters degree in Educational Administration with a Mid-management certificate. Shannon has a BS in Home Economics with a teacher certification. Together they have over 30 years of experience working with children.
Summit Private School is involved with Child Care Services Rising Star School Program. Summit has continuously earned the highest rating of 4 Stars, since beginning the program in 2001. This rating is based on evaluations that Summit receives over a year long process. The evaluation consists of day-long monitoring of the learning environment that includes ratios, curriculum and discipline.
Summit has a privately written curriculum for its preschool program. Children are actively involved in their learning environment. Rooms are arranged in specific center areas to provide optimal learning. Children are taught lessons each day that include mathematics and language arts. Summit also incorporates Sign Language and Spanish into the day.
