PLEASE READ: I got out of the military after 8 years of service and moved here to League City looking for a good daycare. My husband is from Galveston, but we didn't know anyone from League city at the time, therefore had no references as to what daycare was good or bad. We stumbled upon Metro City Kids and although I wasn't impressed with the facility the price was something we could afford at the time. I have learned though that what you pay for is what you get and that should never be something we're willing to compromise when it comes to our children. I had many issues with them, some of which me and my husband had actual sit downs with the director - Side note: The things people said about the owner on previous reviews are TRUE- very hard to get your point across! She talks in a very condescending manner, she never does no wrong, and her apologies are always fake!- One of the main issues I had was when my children (I have a 2 year old and a now a 4 year old) would come home with bruises on various parts of their body. I know, they are kids, they will get bumps and bruises, got it! However, when my children are fighting me every morning stating they are scared of a teacher and do not want to go back, then you have to pay those comments some attention. My two year old had a good sized cut on her cheek bone area. From the looks of it (and also from the pictures I have taken) it looked like a deep scratch of some sort. When brought to the toddler's teacher attention-- she had no clue and neither did anyone in the entire daycare for that matter. After speaking with Mrs. Elva about it (the director) she also had no idea and told me she would talk with the teacher about it (after telling me that the cut looked like a mosquitto bite) and get me an incident report! HA! correct me if I'm wrong, but an incident report is something they should be writing when they know something happened to your child. How will they write an incident report if they have no clue as to what happened?! Exactly! *SIDE NOTE: My kids went to this facility for several months and I NEVER received an incident report, I always brought issues up to them, and as always, they NEVER knew what happened to my child* One day after that incident with my 2 year old, my 4 year old comes home with bruises on her chin and forehead, as well as scratches on her neck and head. I was in complete shock when I seen my daughter and broke in tears! I of course asked Mrs. Elva what happened and OF COURSE as I could have guessed she had NO clue. All she said was that her teacher wasn't there at the moment (Ms. Sherri) & that when she got back she would ask her. I was angry, furious at minimum so the best I could do was stay clear of the premise, which I did. I took pictures of all the injuries and recorded my daughter as I asked her what in the world had happened. Brought tears to my eyes hearing her say that Ms. sherri had scratched her because she was being a bad girl. She then added that she forgives her though. And yes, eventually Mrs. Elva did call me back, but I did not care to hear her excuses and fake stories. I proceeded to report her and even filed a police report. I believe my daughter 100% not because I am a gullible parent, but because this wasn't the first time my daughter told me that Ms Sherri "scratched" her, but I am guilty of brushing it off and not believing her. When grabbing all of my kids belongings from the daycare, one of the teachers sadly asked me if it was their last day, and I said yes and why...her response shocked me. She said: "believe in what your daughter has told you, as she walked away. (warning me, but still wishing to have a job at the end of the day :( I wish I could post the pictures or even the recordings of my daughter explaining what happened. This review is honest and true and of course this probably does not happen to every child, but if it happens to ONE child it is one child too many! They have no working cameras and they have way too many kids that a single teacher can handle --regardless of what the state of TX allows--
