Description: Head Start is a national program that promotes school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through the provision of educational, health, nutritional, social and other services to enrolled children and families. Avance is Harlandale ISD's partner in the Head Start program. Since 1973, AVANCE has helped parents prepare their children for school by focusing on what parents can do during the critical first three years of their child’s life.
