Description: First Baptist Church of The Woodlands established the Child Development Center in 1976 to meet the community's need for quality childcare and preschool education. In January 2011, the center changed its name to First Kids Academy.
First Kids Academy is designed to provide a safe, loving, and nurturing environment where children can learn and grow. Our program is based upon principles of growth and development, which provides guidelines for age-appropriate activities suited to the needs and abilities of the individual child. We view each child as a special gift from God, created unique, deserving of our respect, care, and guidance. It is our desire to foster a positive self-image as well as develop independence and self-reliance in each child.
To accomplish these goals, we use the Wee Learn Curriculum, whose writers and editors are leaders and experts in the field of early education. And though the curriculum is Bible-based, it is not Baptist in nature, nor does it delve into any Baptist doctrine or theology. Instead, the children at First Kids learn about God and Jesus through daily Bible stories, Bible verses, prayer, and weekly chapel.
