About the Provider
The Children's Coalition, a nonprofit organization registered in the state of Texas, is housed at 5127 Avenue U, Galveston, TX, 77551. We are leasing space from Westminster Presbyterian Church, however, we are unaffiliated with the church. The Coalition formed because of an immediate need on Galveston Island for quality childcare following Hurricane Ike and the flooding of the daycare building many of us previously used at the University of Texas Medical Branch. In response, we parents formed our own parent co-op (nonprofit corporation with members (parents of enrolled children) and a Board of Directors) with many of the same teachers and the same managing director from the former UTMB Child Care Center.
