The Gardner School of Louisville is an award-winning, academically focused preschool for children ages 6 weeks through preschool. We offer four-year degreed teachers, a research-based curriculum and a full suite of enrichment programs.Our educational philosophy encourages a learning environment that stimulates and nurtures children's growth and development. Quality of instruction is inconsistent. Classrooms are frequently over ratio. Students are frequently seen watching (non-educational) You Tube videos. Under the leadership of the prior director, instruction was consistent between classrooms. The day to day activities of each student were age appropriate and predictable. The overall feeling within the building was one of warmth. Now the building is less clean, students are shifted between classrooms inconsistently due to ratio issues, and teachers are unhappy. Preschool students in particular should not be shifted if the intent is to prepare them for kindergarten (which is a consistent and rigorous day of learning). Instead, the preschool program is treated more like a day care, which is disappointing considering previous parent reviews.
I came to watch my grandson during "grandparents day" at the school. The teacher for my grandson's class was unqualified, uninterested, and wouldn't get off her booty to entertain the children. You think she would be on her best behavior for "grandparents day!" for the price, you would think they would have more energetic, happy, active teachers. For my grandsons class it was quite opposite. My daughter is currently looking for other options.
