About the Provider

oleridge-Taylor Montessori is one of only two elementary schools in the Jefferson County Public School (JCPS) District that offers the Montessori method of teaching through its Montessori Magnet Program. The Montessori method of education is based on self-directed and noncompetitive activities that promote positive self-image and confidence. This hands-on approach to education allows students to grasp a wide variety of academic and social skills to make learning easier. The curriculum is structured and ordered from concrete facts to abstract ideas, which offers the child the opportunity for successful learning and the joy of self-discovery. The curriculum also provides students with a firm foundation in language arts, mathematical concepts, science, geography, and practical living.
