I have used this provider for more than 6 months

Ms. Darden is an exceptional daycare provider who genuinely cares for the children in her care, treating them as if they were her own. She consistently goes above and beyond, surpassing the efforts of many other providers by also teaching the children to read, write, and develop their fine motor skills.

I adore this place, and so does my child. As a single parent, I deeply value the staff's kindness and compassion. Ms. Darden truly has the children's best interests at heart and collaborates closely with the parents. I would recommend James Luke Kids 4 Daycare to any parent in the community and even those beyond. It's the closest experience to a private school in the area.

2022-06-16 Complaint 13A.15.03.04B(2) Corrected
Findings: Provider stated to the LS at the time of the complaint inspection that she typically drops the child off and the child states that his brother is in the house. LS informed the provider that she needs to revamp her policy with regard to transportation and who is receiving the children. Word of mouth by the child is not a reliable way to verify that someone is in the house.
2022-06-16 Complaint 13A.15.03.04B(3) Corrected
Findings: LS observed a transportation clause in the providers contract that she transports preschool children only. The child involved in the incident is a school ager and there is no transportation agreement between the provider and this parent. The provider informed the LS that she has a verbal agreement with this particular parent.
2022-06-16 Complaint 13A.15.03.05B(1) Corrected
Findings: The provider stated that she had the parent complete an incident and she signed it but at the time of the inspection the provider could not find the incident report.
2022-06-16 Complaint 13A.15.05.05A Corrected
Findings: LS observed an area under the deck that had a grill and other items that were in the process of being removed according to the provider. There also needs to be a gate at the bottom of the steps of the deck.
2022-06-16 Complaint 13A.15.07.07A Corrected
Findings: Provider stated that she takes full responsibility for dropping the 7 year old child off at home. The child told the provider that his 18 yr old brother was in the house when the provider dropped the child off. She text the mom to say that she dropped the child off around 4 and about 15 minutes later mom text that the brother was not there and that he was at an interview. Once the provider got the text back from the child's mother, her daughter, Shahada then went back to the house and picked up the child around 4:15. The daughter stated that the brother was out front of the house, when she arrived. She stated that she informed the brother that she was going to take the child back to the house. Text messages revealed that the mother of the child left work early and had a neighbor pick the child up.
