I have used this provider for less than 6 months

This review is long overdue as the incident that I will go on to mention occurred in 2019.
I enrolled my child in the program when he was 6 months old. At first, I really liked the program. My child’s main teacher was pleasant and communicative. My partner took issue with the fact that babies would be crawling around where we walked (shoes uncovered), but I didn’t think much of that when we started. However, one day I decided to leave work early to pick up my child. Upon reaching the main entrance of the center I heard a loud cry and immediately knew that it was my child and he seemed to be in distress. I approached his classroom door to find the owners of the daycare sitting together, side-by-side, in the center of the room and having a conversation. I looked around and realized very quickly that my child was nowhere in sight.
Turns out that he was in the adjacent room (connected to his classroom by a door), which was pitch black. He had been placed in his crib and left to cry. Immediately the owners offered an explanation- “he just work up”.
In an effort to not make a scene and to give myself time to process what I had witnessed, I took my child an left. I spent the rest of the evening ruminating on what had occurred, trying to come up with a situation that would make it appropriate. Sadly, there was none. The following day I called and asked his main teacher to gather his things as I would be removing him from their care. When I entered the center to retrieve the items the owners asked if we could talk. During our discussion they changed the story, stating then that my child was in fact having a hard time sleeping and that is why he was alone in the dark, which was not what they had said the previous day.

This was my experience. I cannot speak to the experiences of others, but this center cemented my distrust of caregivers.
